The first production to be seen in London for forty years in a strictly limited season, GYPSY opens at the Savoy Theatre tonight 15 April 2015. Kristin Scott Thomas had a special meeting with Queen Elizabeth II this week when she was made a Dame. The actress is set to portray the British royal beginning next month in the West End production of THE AUDIENCE.

Kristin Scott Thomas will play the Queen in a new and updated version of Peter Morgan's The Audience. Stephen Daldry's production will preview at the Apollo Theatre from 21 April 2015, with press night on 5 May 2015 and is booking to 25 July 2015. John Goodman and Tom Sturridge will join Damian Lewis in the major new revival of David Mamet's gripping 1975 playAmerican Buffalo. Directed by Daniel Evans, American Buffalo will play at Wyndham's Theatre for a strictly limited run from16 April - 27 June 2015.

In 2008, Fiennes worked with frequent collaborator director Jonathan Kent to play the title role in Sophocles's Oedipus the King at The National Theatre in London. He has appeared in films such as The English Patient, In Bruges, The Constant Gardener, Strange Days and Maid in Manhattan. He is also well known for his portrayals of three infamous villains: Nazi war criminal Amon Goth in Schindler's List, serial killer Francis Dolarhyde in the 2002 film Red Dragon, and Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series. Most recently, he appeared in The Reader (2008), The Hurt Locker (2009) and as Hades in Clash of the Titans (2010).

Confirming earlier reports that Chichester Festival Theatre's GYPSY, starring Imelda Staunton as 'Mama Rose', would debut in the West End this spring, the Daily Mail writes that the musical will officially bow on March 30 and run through November 28, 2015 at the Savoy Theatre. This will be the first time GYPSY has appeared in London in 40 years.
