Horse Trade Theater Group Kicks Off 2014 miniFRIDGE Today at UNDER St. Marks

The miniFRIDGE is the carefully curated summer companion to the annual FRIGID New York Festival. This year Horse Trade decided to go with a musical theme! All the shows are heavily music based including a one-man science music show, a full band blues poetry event, a one-woman opera, and some Traveling Musicians.

SummerStage's 2013 season features the debut of Forewords at Central Park, a new series of spoken word discussions with performing artists including Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent of The Zombies with Jonathan Demme onJune 15 and DJ Kool Herc with Cindy Campbell and hip-hop historian Jeff Chang on August 10. Comedy Central presents three great stand-up showcases this year, including a Central Park show on June 26 including performances from Jeff Ross, John Mulaney, Gabriel Iglesias and Amy Schumer. Influential New York poet Sekou Sundiata receives tribute on July 3 from three great artists: Toshi Reagon, Sandra St. Victor and Nona Hendryx.

SummerStage to Present NPR's ASK ME ANOTHER at Central Park, 6/14

The first free Central Park show of the SummerStage 2013 season will be NPR and WNYC's 'Ask Me Another' on June 14, 2013. Featuring Jonathan Coulton and host Ophira Eisenberg, the show runs from 8 to 10 p.m. (recommended arrival time 7 p.m.).

SOUND OFF: GLEE's Role-Reversing Return

Last night, GLEE made its big Winter return on FOX with Episode 11 of Season Four, titled 'Sadie Hawkins' and a virtually (and sonically) dizzyingly plot-packed and music-bedecked episode written by Ross Maxwell and directed by Bradley Buecker. New characters were introduced, romances were born and furthered and a lot of songs were sung - all in all, a GLEE just right for the midway point of the year.

BWW Reviews: LadyNerd - A Cabaret

Directed by Jay James-Moody and with musical direction by Mark Chamberlain, LadyNerd is Keira Daley's cabaret tribute to some of history's greatest and most pioneering minds, from Marie Curie to Amelia Earhart, via lesser known lady nerds including the woman who invented Liquid Paper: Bette Nesmith Graham.
