The sophomore single from the Levee Bandits, 'Granny Mae' is a remix of Lost Bayou Ramblers' track 'Granny Smith' from their Grammy Award winning albumKalenda being released by Nouveau Electric Records on Mardi Gras day, 2019. Produced by Louisiana vaporwave artist/remixer IMAGINE I AM; the track was mixed by Korey Richey (Lost Bayou Ramblers, LCD Sound System), mastered by Bob Weston, and features spoken word samples by Louis Michot's late mentor Ethel Mae Bourque. It stems from a vast trove of LBR remixes undertaken by IMAGINE I AM.

Acclaimed pianist Winston Choi returns to the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) for two concerts with New Philharmonic under the baton of Maestro Kirk Muspratt, Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. The program will include Charles-Camille Saint-Saens' Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, featuring Choi, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27.

Mack Avenue Records is excited to share Julian Lage's new video ahead of his soon-to-be-released album, Love Hurts, out February 22. The live performance video is a beautiful document of this incredible trio at work (Lage with bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King of The Bad Plus) performing the Roy Orbison classic, 'Crying.' The trio will be celebrating the release of Love Hurts with a show at New York City's Le Poisson Rouge on March 5. Tickets are available now.

On Sunday, March 3, O'Neill performs a program of British composers -- Britten, Bowen, Bridge, Carter and Clarke with pianist Steven Lin; he closes on Sunday, May 26 with a program called L.A. Masters with works by Stravinsky, Schoenberg and Brahms with Jennifer Frautschi (violin), Jesse Mills (violin), Fred Sherry (cello), and Orion Weiss (piano).

The University of Washington has announced the complete roster of artists who have been selected as Creative Research Fellows as part of its first three-year Creative Fellowships Initiative. Funded by a $750,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the interdisciplinary initiative will advance the field of performing arts by supporting artists in the development of new works and by integrating the performing arts disciplines into a broader context academically, artistically, and socially.

Singer/conductor Barbara Hannigan makes her New York conducting debut with the Juilliard Orchestra in works by Strauss, Haydn, Debussy, Sibelius, and Bartok on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 7:30pm in Alice Tully Hall. The program features Strauss' "Salome's Dance" from Salome, Op. 54; Haydn's Symphony No. 96 in D Major, Hob. I:96, ("The Miracle"); Debussy's Syrinx (flute soloist to be announced); Sibelius' Luonnatar, Op. 70, with Juilliard soprano Meghan Kasanders; and Bartok's Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin. Hannigan made her debut as a conductor in 2011 at the Chatelet in Paris with Stravinsky's Renard; the soprano has been dividing her time between singing and conducting ever since.
