The producers of the hit musical comedy NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT have just announced that Tony Award nominee Jessie Mueller, John Treacy Egan and Conrad John Schuck will join the production on Friday, March 29th in the roles of Billie Bendix, Chief Berry and Senator Max Evergreen (respectively). Kelli O'Hara, Stanley Wayne Mathis and Terry Beaver played their final performance on Sunday, March 24th.

Jack Gindi's new play, Best Friends, will have a staged reading at 2:00pm on Friday, November 16th at Theatre 54 inside Shetler Studios. David Glenn Armstrong directs this four-person contemporary comedy/drama which stars Josh Adam Davis, Sarah Nedwek, Graham Powell, and Leah Wagner.

My distant cousin Walter Elias 'Walt' Disney had a knack for turning everything into perfection, or at least practically perfect in every way. He took the mean, cranky nanny from P.L. Travers' book "Mary Poppins" and turned her into a saint. He excised two of the four Banks children, allowing the cutest ones to remain in the story. Travers' nanny couldn't dance on rooftops, didn't have adventures with Bert, didn't win at the horse races and couldn't sing. Travers was Australian; they take pride in being able to endure aggressive crocodiles, harsh deserts and appalling alloparenting. For those of us in the northern hemisphere who prefer our protagonists to be a bit on the spoonful of sugar side, Disney's Mary Poppins is just the ticket.

Franklin's Historic Williamson County Courthouse will provide the unique and totally apropos setting as Studio Tenn Theatre Company's 2012-13 season continues with Twelve Angry Men, the classic courtroom drama, running October 18-27.

Annie takes center stage in what's being described as 'a charming production of one of the world's best-loved musicals,' now playing through July 8 at the Benedum Center. Little orphan Annie returns to the Pittsburgh CLO stage for the first time since 2003. Sally Struthers stars as the deliciously evil Miss Hannigan, along with a remarkable supporting cast of Pittsburgh CLO and Broadway veterans. Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for its summer season, which includes six shows, featuring the national tours of Come Fly Away and The Addams Family, and CLO original productions of A Chorus Line, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard. Notably, A CHORUS LINE brings on board a slew of the show's national tour veterans, ANNIE stars Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features Broadway's Lewis J.
