Joe DiPietro (book & lyrics) and the cast of the Off-Broadway musical, The Toxic Avenger: Celina Carvajal, Nick Cordero, Demond Green, Nancy Opel, and Matthew Saldivar all joined together for a musical performance and CD signing to celebrate the new cast recording of the award-winning Off-Broadway musical. The 'Toxie' filled event took place on Thursday, June 25th at the Barnes and Noble Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway @ 66th Street).

At last night's performance of THE TOXIC AVENGER, there were two special guests in the audience - Chad Gilbert, guitarist with the punk/rock band NEW FOUND GLORY and Hayley Williams, vocalist with the hip new band PARAMORE.

The KNF Co announces the World Premiere of BIRD HOUSE, an impossible new play written by Kate Marks. BIRD HOUSE will run for 12 performances from July 10th through July 26th at Theater 3, 311 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor, New York City. Variety reports that the legit director's union has a new name, with the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers now rechristened the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. It has also shortened the org's acronym from SSDC into SDC according to the trade paper.

The 2009 Original Cast Recording of the critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway musical The Toxic Avenger, captured on disc by Time Life, is now available in stores and online as of today, Tuesday, May 5th. Although the disc was available for purchase at the theatre on opening night (March 18), its official release is marked today. The disc contains sixteen (16) 'Toxic Tracks' including a bonus cut performed by David Bryan.
