Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus) and Vineyard Theatre (Artistic Director, Douglas Aibel; Executive Director, Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell) have announced complete casting for their co-production of the New York premiere of the new musical THE BURNT PART BOYS by Mariana Elder (book), Chris Miller (music) and Nathan Tysen (lyrics).

NVA's Ninth Season concludes with Tennessee Williams's American classic SUMMER AND SMOKE, directed by NVA Executive Artistic Director Kristianne Kurner. SUMMER AND SMOKE features Williams's most complex female character in Alma Winemiller, the minister's daughter caught up in a romantic relationship with the hedonistic doctor next door.

Wilton Playshop Hosts Hearing Impaired ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION Show, 5/2

On Sunday, May 2nd, a performance of ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION: A FOLKTALE, playing April 30-May 8 at The Wilton Playshop, will feature open captioning for the hearing impaired for its matinee performance of Oscar, Tony and Pulitzer-Prize winning writer John Patrick Shanley's play. Open captioning is being coordinated by Alan Gould.

Next Theatre Announces 2010/2011 Season

Next Theatre Company and Artistic Director Jason Southerland are thrilled to announce the 30th anniversary season, a year dedicated to plays that explore the myths that men and women create about their lives. The season opens in the fall with a world premiere presented at the National New Play Network's annual showcase. It continues with the regional premiere of a play Southerland first read when he met with Israeli playwright Motti Lerner (Pangs of the Messiah) in Tel Aviv earlier this year. The season comes to its climactic end with a pair of plays by Phyllis Nagy (pronounced 'Naij') who has captured wide acclaim in the United Kingdom but has been rarely produced in the U.S.

The sixth season of the acclaimed Monday Nights, New Voices series continues April 26th at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Rent's Darius de Haas will host an evening of new Voices, featuring the talents of Sarah Aili, Sarah Corey, Drew Pournelle, Stuart Matthew Price and Tricia Tanguy. Show time is 7 PM.

School of Visual Arts Presents 21st Annual Dusty Film and Animation Festival and Awards, 5/2-5/7,

The 21st annual Dusty Film and Animation Festival and Awards will highlight over 100 films by students graduating from the BFA Film, Video and Animation Department at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). The program includes screenings of short films, videos and animations; and an awards ceremony and gala with notable presenters from the film industry. All festival events take place at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Many events are FREE and open to the general public.
