2014 SOLO COLLECTIVE to Feature THE STORYTELLER and More; Runs 9/7-28

After a wildly successful first year, Paul Stein and THE SOLO COLLECTIVE (L.A.'s only Solo Collective company) in residence at VS. THEATRE COMPANY is thrilled to announce its second annual SOLO COLLECTIVE, with three solo shows performing this Fall: Opening with the World Premiere of Antonio Sacre's THE STORYTELLER; a special return engagement of Drew Droege's BRIGHT PATTERNS AND BOLD COLORS and closing with the world premiere of Carla Cackowski's GAL INVINCIBLE. Antonio Sacre in THE STORYTELLER, directed by Paul Stein, will preview on Sunday, September 7 and will open on Friday, September 12 at 8pm and run through Sunday, September 28 at the new home of VS. Theatre Company, 5453 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles.

The Public Theatre's PLAY PAL program is for people who love to go to the theatre, but often find themselves having no one to go with. WAM (Women's Action Movement) Theatre's artistic director Kristen van Ginhoven has announced that legendary playwright Marsha Norman and WAMC Northeast Public Radio producer Sarah LaDuke will co-host Change Makers, WAM Theatre's fifth season celebration and benefit at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington on August 24 at 7 pm. This dynamic duo takes the place of actor Jayne Atkinson, who needed to bow out to attend the Emmy Awards In Los Angeles.

THE BULLPEN Extends Through 11/22 at The Playroom Theater

Receiving rave reviews during its summer run, Writer/Actor Joe Assadourian's hit Off-Broadway Comedy THE BULLPEN has opened ticket sales through November 22nd, 2014 at The Playroom Theater. The show, which is directed by Richard Hoehler, is largely influenced by Joe Assadourian's experiences having served 12 years in prison for attempted murder. This extension will include a celebratory performance on October 8th, which will mark the first anniversary of Joe Assadourian's release from Otisville Correctional Facility. The New York Times praised the one man show exclaiming that Joe Assadourian "is one terrific actor," "marvelous," and "extremely funny."

Minnesota Opera has been awarded a three-year, $750,000 gift from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation that will support the upcoming commissions of The Manchurian Candidate, The Shining, and Dinner at Eight.
