Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, just welcomed a star-studded lineup of players for this year's signature annual benefit Celebrity Charades 2014: Judgment Day, which took place last night, October 27, 2014, at Capitale (130 Bowery).

The Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar had its Broadway premiere last night, October 23, 2014, starring Hari Dhillon (star of the acclaimed London's Bush Theatre production), Gretchen Mol ('Boardwalk Empire'),Karen Pittman (Domesticated) and Josh Radnor ('How I Met Your Mother'). From today, October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.

Tangent Theatre Company, in co-production with AboutFACE Ireland, announce the selected plays to be featured in their 4th NEWvember New Plays Festival (Nov. 6-9) -- a showcase of original plays by promising playwrights to be read at the Carpenter Shop Theater, their 50-seat space in the center of Tivoli village.

Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU opened on September 28, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). George Street Playhouse's season opener, Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley, has more than a touch of Irish mysticism and romance. Like his Oscar-winning movie Moonstruck, the play is the story of an unlikely romance, but set in Ireland. To complement the Irish theme of the play, the Playhouse is offering its patrons to enjoy libations and the sounds of Highland Park-based Celtic Band Brosna, who perform their unique take on Celtic classics following the 8pm Today performance.
