The Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar had its Broadway premiere last night, October 23, 2014, starring Hari Dhillon (star of the acclaimed London's Bush Theatre production), Gretchen Mol ('Boardwalk Empire'),Karen Pittman (Domesticated) and Josh Radnor ('How I Met Your Mother'). MISS JULIE Runs Now thru 11/8 at August Strindberg Rep

From today, October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.

George Street Playhouse's season opener, Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley, has more than a touch of Irish mysticism and romance. Like his Oscar-winning movie Moonstruck, the play is the story of an unlikely romance, but set in Ireland. To complement the Irish theme of the play, the Playhouse is offering its patrons to enjoy libations and the sounds of Highland Park-based Celtic Band Brosna, who perform their unique take on Celtic classics following the 8pm Today performance.

TCG Books Releases John Patrick Shanley's STOREFRONT CHURCH

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of John Patrick Shanley's Storefront Church, the third and final installment of his 'Church and State' trilogy beginning with Doubt and Defiance. The play premiered at Atlantic Theater Company in New York, NY in June 2012 with a subsequent hit production at the San Francisco Playhouse in the fall of 2013.
