Melbourne's opera community is banding together to raise funds for the Red Cross Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund, with 50 of the country's leading singers performing in concert at the Athenaeum Theatre on 7 February.

Ragtime will make its Australian premiere at Arts Centre Melbourne 2 - 10 November 2019.

???????Following a sell out season in Sydney, The Kit Kat Club is returning to Melbourne in all its decadence for a new Australian revival of CABARET playing at The Athenaeum Theatre from 27 April. 

Having celebrated 50 years since CABARET debuted in New York on 20th November 1966, the return to the stage of this love story, set against the transition from the Hedonistic days of the Weimar Republic to the early days of the Nazi Germany, is both entertaining and a timely reminder to a world facing an uncertain future.

The program is a unique multi-platform project that re-invents opera for television, film and online audiences across the country. Internationally acclaimed British actor David Suchet will reprise his role on stage in the conspiracy thriller, 'THE LAST CONFESSION', in Australia in 2014. The international production will play in Toronto and Los Angeles before arriving in Australia in August. Seasons in Perth and Brisbane were announced late last year and now dates have been confirmed for seasons at Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre from August 27 and Melbourne's Comedy Theatre from September 3. Life Like Company is proud to announce a new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's widely acclaimed, Tony Award winning musical PASSION, playing four nights only at The Playhouse, Arts Centre Melbourne from 5-8 November, 2014.

In the history of the Roman Catholic Church, one papal election curiously stood apart. After Pope Paul's death in 1978, a compromise pope was elected, Albino Luciani, who named himself Pope John Paul I. His reign lasted a mere 33 days when, in apparent good health, he died suddenly, creating the suspicion of murder. The Last Confession by Roger Crane explores this time period in Roman Catholic history with a keen eye for details and propelling fine dramatic exchanges. Headed by resourceful actor David Suchet as Cardinal Giovanni Benelli, the cast, mostly from England, is a sturdy lot, and most likely only those repulsed by religion and/or politics will find the action less than intriguing, through July 6 only.
