Garden of Laughs Comedy Benefit Once Again Raises Over $2 Million

The Garden of Dreams Foundation announced today that the 2019 Garden of Laughs event, presented by Delta Air Lines, once again raised more than $2 million for the Foundation to aid its efforts to make dreams come true for tri-state area children in need. Since its inception in 2013, the biennial Garden of Laughs comedy benefit has raised $7 million in total for the charity. In addition to a sold-out evening of comedy at Garden of Laughs, the Foundation also launched an exclusive online auction through Charitybuzz, where you can continue to support the Garden of Dreams Foundation by bidding on unforgettable packages and experiences, including meet-and-greets and tickets to sporting and entertainment events. The auctions are running now through April 11, 2019, with certain packages closing on April 9.

The Garden of Dreams Talent Show is an annual event where children from various Garden of Dreams partner organizations are presented with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall. For one memorable evening in front of their family and friends, the children perform their talents, forgetting their problems and celebrating their unique voices. The Talent Show and multiple rehearsals leading up to the big night attract many notable guests as mentors.

The 62nd BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express® announces its jury line-up for this year's Festival Awards. The juries will be led by: Academy Award-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson, nominee for the LFF Best Film Award for Room (LFF 2015 and also director of Frank, winner Best Screenplay BIFA 2014); Francis Lee, winner of the 2017 BIFA for Best Debut Screenwriter for God's Own Country; the prolific, award-winning documentary producer Simon Chinn, who won the 2009 and 2013 Academy Award for Best Documentary for Man on Wire and Searching For Sugarman respectively; and director Rungano Nyoni, whose film I Am Not a Witch was in the First Feature competition in the Festival last year (securing her a nomination for the IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Bursary Award in association with the BFI), won the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer and is the UK's entry for Best Foreign Language Film for the 2019 Academy Awards.

The USTA today announced that singer songwriter, Deborah Cox and Tony-nominated singer, Brandon Victor Dixon will perform "America the Beautiful" respectively prior to the women's and men's US Open Finals on Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th. In addition, Cox will perform "I'm Every Woman" and Dixon will be sing "We Are the Champions" as a celebration of the female and male champions of the past 50 years of the US Open in Flushing, NY.
