The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (Davis McCallum, Artistic Director; Kate Liberman, Managing Director) is proud to announce complete casting for the 2017 summer season. The previously announced season will contain two world premiere productions, THE BOOK OF WILL (Rolling World Premiere) and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, along with TWELFTH NIGHT, THE GENERAL FROM AMERICA, and LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, co-produced with The Acting Company. 

The 2017 Helen Hayes Award nominations were announced tonight. A line-up of leading theatre artists announced nominations in 47 categories of artistic excellence. Award recipients will be announced at the Helen Hayes Awards gala event to be held at the Lincoln Theatre on Monday, May 15 with an after-party hosted at Washington's legendary 9:30 Club.

Folger Theatre continues its celebrated 25th anniversary season with As You Like It, one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies. Directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, this classic tale filled with love, laughter, and mistaken identity features original songs composed by Heather Christian and dances by Alexandra Beller. BEDLAM must close its critically acclaimed limited engagement of SENSE & SENSIBILITY on Sunday, November 20 at the Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street). SENSE & SENSIBILITY opened on January 24, 2016 and has extended twice. At the time of closing, the show will have played 15 preview performances and 262 regular performances.

Shakespeare & Company opened its 39th Performance Season on  May 27 with the regional premiere of The Tamingand Broadwayworld was there for one of the performances. Written by award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson, and directed by Company veteran Nicole Ricciardi, the outlandish and politically charged comedy is playing at the Elayne Bernstein Theatre running through July 30, 2016.

Shakespeare & Company continues to roll out its 39th performance season with the Regional Premiere of the Woodward and Newman award-winning play, Ugly Lies the Bone, written by Lindsey Ferrentino, and directed by Daniela Varon. This insightful, emotional and timely drama joins the Bernstein Theatre repertory on June 16 and runs through August 28.
