The One-Minute Play Festival Coming to Seattle

The New York based company, The One-Minute Play Festival (Dominic D'Andrea, Producing Artistic Director) and the Central Heating Lab at ACT- A Contemporary Theatre create a dynamic partnership to bring The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) to Seattle for the first time.

GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, announced on April 12th the winners for its 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, presented nationally by Ketel One Vodka, Wells Fargo, and Hilton Worldwide. By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the LGBT community, the GLAAD Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD's work to bring LGBT images and stories to people around the world.

Award-Winning Quaker Steak & Lube Announces Four New Restaurants Throughout Virginia And Tennessee

The Award-Winning casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube known for its Best Wings USA and more than 25 sauces, announced today the signing of an area development agreement with Albatross Group, LLC for four restaurants throughout Virginia and Tennessee, including the areas of Roanoke, Va., Tri-Cities, TN/VA and Knoxville, Tenn. The first restaurant is planned to open in Bristol, Va. in spring 2014, and the remainder over the next several years.

Award-Winning Quaker Steak & Lube Announces October Promotions

The Award-Winning casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube known for its Best Wings USA and more than 20 sauces, announced today two different promotions that will run through the month of October. Beginning Oct. 1, Quaker Steak & Lube will launch both its "Think Pink" program in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and its next social media recipe contest, "Sauce It Up!"

BWW Flashback: PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Flies from Broadway Today; Lands in a 'New World'

Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award-winning play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, will play its final Broadway performance today, January 20, 2013, ending its nearly year-long run. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012, and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Before the production lands in its new home at off-Broadway's New World Stages this March, BroadwayWorld takes you on a journey through Starcatcher's beginnings (and ending) on Broadway!

Associate Artistic Director Jon Kretzu to Leave Artists Rep

After directing 50 productions in almost 20 years Jon Kretzu leaves his post as Associate Artistic Director at Artists Repertory Theatre. Working side-by-side with Artistic Director Allen Nause, who retires at the end of this season, Kretzu has made great contributions to the mission of Artists Rep both as a play director and in his artistic administrative role.

He's back! Taproot Theatre welcomes Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol back to its stage, after a sold out run in 2010. Seattle playwright and author, John Longenbaugh's clever mash-up of two classics is a moving mystery worthy of becoming a new family holiday tradition. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Scott Nolte, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol opens on November 23 and runs through December 29 with a pay-what-you-can performance tomorrow night, November 21. Will Sherlock Holmes crack his own case? Our favorite quirky, Scrooge-infused inquisitor and his host of supernatural visitors return this holiday season with a remount of the wildly successful Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol, crafted by Seattle veteran playwright John Longenbaugh.

Northern Ballet Performs MADAME BUTTERFLY in Sheffield, Now thru Sept 22

Northern Ballet's Madame Butterfly dances into the Lyceum Theatre from tonight, 18 - 22 September 2012. Madame Butterfly is directed and choreographed by the Company's Artistic Director, David Nixon OBE, who originally created the piece on his wife, Yoko Ichino, the internationally renowned ballerina, who is now Ballet Mistress and Academy Associate Director at Northern Ballet. The Northern Ballet version of the production premiered at Leeds Grand Theatre in 2002.

The Sound of the Baskervilles Presents The 1st Annual SHERLOCK HOLMES WEEK, 7/30-8/5

The Sound of the Baskervilles-the Seattle-based scion society of The Baker Street Irregulars-will hold its "The Anatomy of the World of Sherlock Holmes" conference during the first-ever world-wide Sherlock Holmes Week on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Panel and round-table discussions will take place beginning at 2:00 p.m. at T.S. McHugh's Public House, 21 Mercer Street, Seattle. Members of the SOBs, as well as special guest speakers from Seattle's theatre and martial arts communities, will lead panels and workshops in the life and legacy of the Great Detective.

Artists Repertory Theatre announces its 2012/13 season's play selections: And So It Goes… by Aaron Posner, adapted from Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.; Seven Guitars by August Wilson; Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol by John Longenbaugh; The Lost Boy by Susan Mach; Red Herring by Michael Hollinger; The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar; Ten Chimneys by Jeffrey Hatcher; and the Fowler-Levin Prize Award-winning New Play Commission by Andrea Stolowitz.

Hartt School Announces 2011-12 Dance Season

The Hartt School announces its 2011-2012 Dance Division season performance schedule. Admission to each performance is $20 with discounts for seniors, students, and groups.
