STAGE TUBE: 'Getting to Know' the Cast of Lyric Opera of Chicago's THE KING AND I

Lyric Opera of Chicago presents its grand-scale production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, featuring Broadway stars Kate Baldwinand Paolo Montalban as Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam. Additional Broadway artists Ali Ewoldt (Tuptim), Alan Ariano (The Kralahome) and Rona Figueroa (Lady Thiang) join the cast, along with Sam Simahk (Lun Tha) and Chicagoland artists Charlie Babbo (Louis Leonowens), Jomar Ferreras (Interpreter), John Lister(Captain Orton), David Parkes (Sir Edward Ramsay), Peter Sipla (Phra Alack) and Matthew Uzarraga (Prince Chulalongkorn). All but Lister make their Lyric debuts with The King and I.  In the video, cast members talk about the show.  Check it out below!

Lyric Opera of Chicago released today new behind-the-scenes rehearsal images from its grand-scale production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, featuring Broadway stars Kate Baldwin and Paolo Montalban as Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam. Broadway, Chicago Stars Round Out Principal Cast of Lyric Opera's THE KING AND I

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced today casting for the remaining principal roles in its grand-scale production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, featuring Broadway stars Kate Baldwin and Paolo Montalban as Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam. Theatre at the Center to Present A CHRISTMAS STORY

As the grand finale to their spectacular 25th Anniversary 2015 Season, Theatre at the Center presents the beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Story, running November 19 through December 27, with a press opening on Sunday, November 22 at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. Based on the award-winning film, the play by Phil Grecian tells the story of Ralphie Parker, who longs for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. The source material for the film was the warm and hilarious story collection In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash by local Hammond, Indiana native Jean Shepherd. The holiday classic will be directed by Jeff Award-winner Linda Fortunato (Monty Python's Spamalot, A Christmas Carol, 42nd Street at Theatre at the Center).

Aaron Posner & Teller Helm Larry Yando in Chicago Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST, Starting Tonight

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents Shakespeare's spectacular tale of revenge and romance -- The Tempest -- staged by award-winning directors Aaron Posner and Teller, of the magic duo Penn & Teller. This inventive reimagining features the music of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, as well as choreography from the pioneering dance troupe Pilobolus led by Associate Artistic Director Matt Kent.

Michael Patrick Thornton to Star in Next Theatre's RICHARD III; Cast Announced!

?Next Theatre Company announces the cast for its second production in its 34th season, Shakespeare's Richard III, directed by Jessica Thebus, at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. Previews are Saturday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, January 4 at 2p.m., Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 11 at 2 p.m. Press Opening night is Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m.

Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival to Present HENRY IV, 8/19-31

This summer, as the world celebrates the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival celebrates two dates of their own - the 150th anniversary of the first full Shakespeare play produced on campus and the 15th season of the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival (NDSF). "We're honoring our 1864 kinsmen by producing Henry IV, the same title performed by Notre Dame 150 years ago," says Grant Mudge, Ryan Producing Artistic Director for the Festival. A tale of rebels and rebellion, Henry IV explores the journey of a prodigal prince torn between two fathers - an ailing king and an errant knave.
