NAACP to Honor Harry Belafonte as 97th Spingarn Medalist

Legendary singer, songwriter, actor and activist Harry Belafonte will be honored with the 97th Spingarn Medal at the NAACP Spingarn Dinner, February 15th at 7:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place during the NAACP Annual Board Meeting at the New York Marriot Marquis Hotel.

Uniqlo Teams Up with Celia Birtwell

President Obama Speaks at Medal of Freedom Ceremony, Honoring Bob Dylan, Toni Morrison et al.

Today, May 29th, President Barack Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Medal of Freedom is our Nation's highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
