It's December! Voting is now underway for the 2019 BroadwayWorld Detroit Awards, brought to you by TodayTix! Now you can vote to make sure your favorite local theatres and performers are recognized. Check out the first set of stats below.

Voting is NOW OPEN and the first votes are in for the 2019 BroadwayWorld Detroit Awards, brought to you by TodayTix! The nominees are set, and now you can vote to make sure your favorite local theatres and performers are recognized!

To launch the season of giving, the Williamston Theatre gives back! We'll be presenting readings of six plays a?" an entire season in a day. Readings begin at 10am and run through 10pm. The public is invited to come for one play, or stay for them all. This event is FREE and open to the public, no reservations are necessary. Information will be available in our lobby on several local charities doing amazing work in our community.

The Williamston Theatre has been awarded two grants from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The first is a $22,500 Operational Support Grant and will support the general operations of the Williamston Theatre for the 2019-2020 Season, which will include six productions and many special programs.

Tipping Point Theatre's upcoming production, Funnyman by Bruce Graham, takes a serious look behind the scenes of a celebrated comic's life. It's 1959, and Chick Sherman's funnyman career is beginning its decline into irrelevancy. That all changes when an experimental playwright specifically requests his talents, teaching Chick that not everything in life has to have a punchline.

The Williamston Theatre has been awarded a grant from the Ingham County Hotel/Motel Grant Fund through the Arts Council of Greater Lansing in support of its marketing initiatives to out-of-county residents.

Mid-Michigan's award-winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston brings its own touch to the 1978 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama, The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn.  Performances begin Thursday, March 21 and run through Saturday, April 20.  Tickets are now on sale.

So, it is very fitting, then, that Williamston Theatre Director Mary Job cast the masterful Karen Sheridan as the "Divine Sarah" in Memoir by John Murrell.

On Tuesday, November 28 the Williamston Theatre will hold a marathon of staged readings of six plays. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcomed to attend all or individual readings. Gracie's Contemporary Bistro in Williamston is a sponsor of the event.

Lansing - The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is thrilled to announce an All-Star Michigan Cast for the ICHABOD, a new play by accomplished playwright Joseph Zettelmaier. The reading will take place at 3 pm on Saturday, October 28, at the Library of Michigan in Lansing. The events of ICHABOD take place in a tiny tavern just outside the village of Sleepy Hollow. Twenty years earlier, the titular Ichabod had an encounter with the Headless Horseman and he has at last returned to the town that cast him out.
