Main Street Theatre Works Presents A TALE OF TWO CITIES Live Radio Show

The finest radio dramas of the late 1930's were presented by The Mercury Theater On The Air, founded by Orson Welles and John Houseman. Together, they presented many classic pieces of literature, and shook the country with it's terrifying staging of a?oeWar of the Worlds.a?? Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) is re-creating one of these literary classic radio plays, A Tale of Two Cities, complete with live sound effects. This limited-engagement fundraiser will have only two performances ~ Saturday, November 2nd at 8:00pm, and Sunday, November 3rd at 2pm. Performances will be at our new location, The Historic Sutter Creek Grammar School, 110 Broad Street, Sutter Creek. Tickets are $25 and include a dessert bar, coffee or tea, and the show. A no-host wine bar will be available on a donation basis.

Soho Playhouse To Debut Henry Naylor's GAMES

SoHo Playhouse presents the American Premiere of Henry Naylor's Games, directed by Darren Lee Cole. It will begin performances on October 10 and open on October 20  running through November 24, 2019, at the Historic SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). 

Westport Country Playhouse Stages MILMA'S TALE

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the powerful, theatrical fable, a?oeMlima's Tale,a?? written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, from October 1 a?" 19.  This is the first production of the play since its world premiere Off-Broadway last year.

The Acting Company (Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley; Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) today announced casting for the final reading in the 23rd John McDonald Salon Reading Series, Letters from Prison, a curated evening from adapter Dakin Matthews (To Kill a Mockingbird) that collects the original letters of acclaimed literary and historic figures to explore the nature of justice and imprisonment, from the Bible to the present day. The reading will take place on Tuesday, August 13 at 7 PM at the Duke on 42nd Street (229 W. 42nd Street, New York, NY). One Day Delay For Off Broadway Premiere of I SPY A SPY

Due to technical issues (or spy interference) the Off Broadway premiere of I Spy A Spy, a new (declassified) musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Jamie Jackson and book & music by SoHee Youn, directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Desperate Measures) with musical direction by Dan Pardo (Amazing Grace) will now begin its limited engagement (through September 21) at The Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Saturday, July 6th at 8pm. The show will have its official opening on Thursday, July 18th at 7pm.

The Civilians Presents Claire Kiechel's PAUL SWAN IS DEAD AND GONE

The Civilians, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Steve Cosson and Managing Director Margaret Moll, is proud to present the world premiere of Paul Swan is Dead and Gone by Claire Kiechel, a former member of The Civilians' R&D Group where the play was first developed. Directed by Cosson and starring Tony Torn as the real-life Paul Swan, the production marks Kiechel's New York debut and runs April 25 - May 19, with an opening night set for May 1. For an audience of only 30, the intimate and immersive performance takes place at Torn Page (435 West 22nd Street, Manhattan), a salon-style performance space located inside a historic Chelsea townhouse originally purchased by Torn's parents, Geraldine Page and Rip Torn.
