John Douglas Thompson, described by the New York Times as one of the most compelling classical stage actors of his generation, will make his Long Wharf Theatre debut in Satchmo at the Waldorf, by Terry Teachout, directed by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein. The one-man show will take place Wednesday, October 3 through Sunday, November 4 on Stage II.

Clybourne Park, the 2012 Tony Award-winning 'Best Play', ends its Broadway run-extended twice already-today, September 2nd, at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Also the winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and Olivier Award, Clybourne Park is the wickedly funny and fiercely provocative new play about race, real estate and the volatile values of each. By its final performance today, the play will have played 27 previews and 157 regular performances.

Ford's Theatre presents the Washington premiere of "Fly," by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan, directed by Ricardo Khan, September 21 through October 21, 2012. The centerpiece of this year's programming for The Lincoln Legacy Project, "Fly" is based on the experiences of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.

Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN, the critically-acclaimed revival about dirty tricks and double-dealing at a political convention, recoups its investment just as the 2012 Republican National Convention begins. The play will conclude its limited engagement at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) right after the 2012 Democratic National Convention on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

The limited engagement will run at the NYU Skirball Center, 566 LaGuardia Place (LaGuardia Place and Washington Square South), Thursday, November 15 at 8 p.m.; Friday, November 16 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, November 17 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m; and Sunday, November 18 at 3 p.m. In 2010 THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS was anine-month hit at New York's Westside Theatre.

Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, returns to Irvine by popular demand for a limited engagement at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, 4242 Campus Drive, adjacent to University of California Irvine, from tonight, July 12 through July 15. The production sold out five performances at the same venue in July 2011.

The Old Globe presents the West Coast Premiere of Divine Rivalry. Based on a real-life event, the drama about two of history's most famous artists-and one of history's most infamous statesmen-is written by Michael Kramer with D. S. Moynihan. Directed by Michael Wilson, Divine Rivalry runs now through August 5 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.
