A.R.T. Announces Steering Committee for 'Creating Equal,' New Collective of Artists, Organizers, and Facilitators

Variety Show and Cabaret Star Carmel Quinn Dies at 95

Perhaps she was best known for her concerts at Carnegie Hall, which began in 1955. She performed benefit concerts every year on St. Patrick’s Day for more than two decades, and they all sold out.

Portland Stage Announces The 2020 Clauder Competition For New England Playwrights Winners

The winning plays, The Last Ship to Proxima Centauri by Greg Lam, In His Hands by Benjamin Benne, and Rx Machina by Caity-Shea Violette will be workshopped and given digital readings in the 32nd Annual Little Festival of the Unexpected over three weekends in March and April, starting March 12, 2021. The digital workshop performances are free and open to the public with registration.

AKA NYC Announces Inaugural Projects For The Black Producer 500 Hours Initiative

AKA NYC has announced that Producers Blair Russell, Dale A. Mott, and Nolan Williams, Jr. have been chosen as the inaugural recipients of the newly formed Black Producer 500 Hours Initiative. The goal is to help open doors for new, diverse, and necessary storytellers on Broadway stages and in arts and performance spaces across the country.

Ty Defoe and Rona Siddiqui Join the Dramatists Guild Council

The Dramatists Guild of America will welcome two new members to its Council, Ty Defoe and Rona Siddiqui. The Guild is governed by a board of directors (Council) elected from its membership. These writers, in various stages of their theatrical careers, meet monthly to decide policy for the Guild.
