Miles Away joins shows such as 'Dickens' Women' in presenting the ultimate actor's challenge; one hour, one actor, sixteen distinct characters. Renee Gentle (The Call, Boxing Day Test) plays Alex a city girl who travels from suburbia to outback Australia on a road trip with a twist. Riding her bicycle doctors, drunkards, and dangerously disarming characters enter and exit Alex's world as rapidly as her pedals turn.

This weekend, New Yorkers brought their Christmas trees to over 80 locations across the city for the 18th annual MulchFest. NYC Parks, partnering with the Department of Sanitation, GreeNYC, and numerous community organizations, provides New Yorkers with the opportunity to mulch their Christmas trees into wood chips that will be used to nourish parks and gardens throughout the city. Participants were also invited to take a free bag of mulch home. This year's MulchFest recycled a record-breaking 30,109 trees. Scroll down for photos!

Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty, Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, Council Members Vincent Ignizio and Deborah Rose, Director of the Mayor's Office for Long-Term Planning & Sustainability David Bragdon, representatives from partner City agencies and organizations, and members of the Staten Island community celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Fresh Kills Landfill closing by welcoming a barge of trees and planting them at the future location of the Freshkills Park South Park area.

The Torch-Bearers by George Kelly was the third production. Tony-nominated stage and screen actor Dylan Baker (November, Mauritius, Revolutionary Road) adapted and directed this production which played from July 29 through August 9.

The Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) has announced casting for its 2009 Main Stage Season running from July 1 to August 23 at the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance in Williamstown, MA. In making the announcement Artistic Director Nicholas Martin said, 'I am so thrilled to bring this decorated and talented group of artists to the Berkshires this summer for our 55th Anniversary Season.'
