PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT Extends Into March at Pride Films and Plays

Pride Films and Plays' production of the Tony Award-winning musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, the company's inaugural production in their two-stage Pride Arts Center, has added an extra four weeks of performances and will now close on Sunday, March 12 rather than the previously announced February 12.

Pride Films and Plays' production of the Tony Award-winning musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, opens tomorrow, January 17, and continues through February 12, 2017 as the company's inaugural production in their two-stage Pride Arts Center. Complete casting and creative team have been announced for Pride Films and Plays' production of the Tony Award-winning musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, which will open in January as the company's inaugural production in their two-stage Pride Arts Center. The musical will be performed in The Broadway, the center's 85-seat theatre at 4139 N. Broadway.

Uptown Underground to Offer Holiday-Themed Retrotainment

Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway, celebrates the season like none other with chill-warming craft cocktails in a cozy speakeasy environment featuring retrotainment from burlesque and magic to cabaret and circus arts six nights a week. Featured performers include The Kiss Kiss Cabaret, Chicago Magic Lounge, Brass Chuckles Comedy, The Cabaret Project, Boy Toy's Pocket Cabaret, Pervesk' Burlesk', Muffy Fishbasket's Drag Nights, Acrobatica Infiniti and many others. Nightly cover charge ranges from $5 to $40 and includes a full evening of entertainment. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the first performance, usually beginning at 8 p.m. Uptown Underground is a 21 and over venue, minors are permitted with parental accompaniment. BWW Review: SCREAM, QUEEN, SCREAM!

David Cerda, the crown prince of Chicago Camp, is back and in top form with his latest queer take on horror anthologies, SCREAM, QUEEN, SCREAM! Cerda, the artistic director of Hell in a Handbag Productions, wrote the show and also stars in one of the trilogy of stories. It runs through Oct. 31 at Mary's Attic (5400 N. Clark).

COMPASSION!, MASTER CLASS and RAGTIME, Terrence McNally, Circle Theatre's production of THE RITZ opened on February 15th.When straight businessman Gaetano Proclo discovers he's being pursued by the mob, he unwittingly takes cover in a gay bathhouse with an increasingly bizarre and endearing cast of characters.
