The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today that it will honor its Founders and Presidents, past and present, at SHOW OFF!, a benefit concert celebrating 25 years of NAMT's Annual Festival of New Musicals on Sunday, October 20 at 7pm at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square).

TUTS Underground announces the final show that will steam up its 2013-2014 season. Murder Ballad, the sultry story of passion's dark side, is set to run in Hobby Center's 500-seat Zilkha Hallfrom April 15 - 27, 2014.

Summer in the theatre world is awards season. The king of all theatre awards is the annual Tony Awards Show. This year's Tony Awards Ceremony will be televised live on CBS on June 9, 2013 at 7:00pm Central Standard Time. To a crowd of more than 2,500 people, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) declared the winners of TUTS' eleventh annual Tommy Tune Awards on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Adding extra excitement to the evening, the award ceremony's namesake and nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune made a special appearance to kick off the show and to present the night's top honor.

Back by popular demand, Theatre Under The Star (TUTS) will present Monty Python's Spamalot, an outrageous musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the classic film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." With music and lyrics by the Grammy Award winning team of Eric Idle and John Du Prez and book by Eric Idle, Spamalot makes an irreverent parody of the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table during their quest for the Holy Grail. This three-time Tony Award winning show, including the Tony Award for Best Musical, also features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, flying cows, killer rabbits, one legless knight and several show-stopping musical numbers. With songs like "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" and "The Song That Goes Like This," the audience will eat up TUTS' presentation of Spamalot from May 14 - 26.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of its Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) with the kickoff of the recently formed HSMT Alumni Association. Graduates and supporters of the HSMT program from the past four decades joined for an evening of celebration and reunion as they mixed and mingled amidst the backdrop of the HSMT rehearsal rooms, complete with wine and hors d'oeuvres from City Kitchen.

John Breckenridge, president and CEO of Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS), has announced Bruce Lumpkin will join the staff as Artistic Director. In this position, Lumpkin will maintain artistic oversight of TUTS' producing operations, including all self-produced shows and galas, as well as provide creative direction to TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre.
