Back by popular demand, Theatre Under The Star (TUTS) will present Monty Python's Spamalot, an outrageous musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the classic film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." With music and lyrics by the Grammy Award winning team of Eric Idle and John Du Prez and book by Eric Idle, Spamalot makes an irreverent parody of the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table during their quest for the Holy Grail. This three-time Tony Award winning show, including the Tony Award for Best Musical, also features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, flying cows, killer rabbits, one legless knight and several show-stopping musical numbers. With songs like "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" and "The Song That Goes Like This," the audience will eat up TUTS' presentation of Spamalot from May 14 - 26.

"This hilarious show seizes the stage with the same British comedic energy and sense of adventure we know and love from the film, and it leaves everyone begging for more," said John Breckenridge, TUTS President and CEO. "There is no guilt in re-indulging in this supremely silly production. Just like the classic Monty Python films, this show only gets better the more you see it - and to those who disagree, I say 'Ni!'"

Monty Python is not one single person but instead is composed of a group of British actors and writers, along with one American. They performed 45 episodes of their famous comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus on the BBC from 1969 to 1974, with subsequent international fame and success. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and the uproarious musical Spamalot as well as helped launch the members into individual stardom.

To celebrate Spamalot and provide an unforgettable musical theatre experience, TUTS will offer special events in conjunction with the show:
