Maria Bartiromo to Host ITALIAN AMERICANS OF NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY on WLIW21, THIRTEEN & NJTV

The largest Italian American population in the United States is found in New York and New Jersey. The new two-part series Italian Americans of New York and New Jersey - premiering on Tuesday, February 17th and 24th at 8 p.m. on THIRTEEN, Sunday, February 15th and 22nd at 9 p.m. on WLIW21 and on Thursday, February 26th and March 3rd at 8 p.m. on NJTV - will celebrate the vibrant culture and Italian experience that is present in neighborhoods ranging from Manhattan's Little Italy to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn to Hammonton, New Jersey and beyond.

As Joe Piscopo tells it, NBC in a moment of insanity replaced the original cast of Saturday Night Live (Dan Aykroyn, John Belushi, Gilda Radner etc) with Joe Piscopo and a new cast which included Eddie Murphy. After seeing Joe's act at a great venue in Paramus New Jersey named The Ciccone Theatre, I witnessed first hand the brilliance of the network's decision to put Joe in SNL in 1980.

The 2014 'Come Home America Tour' kickoff, scheduled for today, May 23, has been sanctioned as an official Fleet Week New York Event with support from the USO. Acclaimed NYC vocalist-songwriter Marcus Goldhaber will be singing for the troops with his 6-piece band in an all-new concert production that celebrates 'The New Greatest Generation' for the Memorial Day Weekend tour launch. Media Week begins Monday (5/19) with a morning guest appearance on The Joe Piscopo Show on AM970 The Answer.

After a semester of learning, collaborating, and developing their theatrical skills, Kimmel Center Education Department's Show Stoppers celebrates the end of its spring session with Rave Revues, a program of works featuring the music of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, Bernstein's West Side Story, and Porter's Anything Goes in Perelman Theater tonight, May 13 at 7 p.m.

NJPAC to Celebrat Governor Brendan T. Byrne's 90th Birthday with a Celebrity Comedy Roast Benefit, 4/1

NJPAC will celebrate Governor Brendan T. Byrne's 90th birthday on Tuesday, April 1 at 5:30pm with a Roast and toast of the former Governor by his predecessors in the New Jersey governor's office, celebrity comedians and other New Jersey politicians. Held in NJPAC's intimate Chase Room and benefiting the Arts Center's education initiatives, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will act as Roastmaster and lead Tom Kean, James Florio, Donald DiFrancesco, Jim McGreevey, and Richard Codey, as well as Assemblyman Jon Bramnick in saluting New Jersey's 47th Governor. Joining the politicians onstage to roast Governor Byrne will be acclaimed 'Saturday Night Live' alumnus Joe Piscopo, comedian and former talk show host Joy Behar, Vice President of New York Friars Club, Stewie Stone, and New Jersey judge turned comedian Vince August. World renowned jazz singer and guitarist John Pizzarelli will provide musical accompaniment for the evening. Additional celebrity guests and politicians may be added to the lineup.

Photo Flash: Remembering David Brenner

Legendary stand-up comedian and long time Tonight Show favorite, David Brenner has passed away at the age of 78 on Saturday, March 15th after a battle with cancer. According to the comic's official web site Brenner died peacefully at his home in New York City surrounded by his family at his side. In Brenner's final request he asked that one hundred dollars in small bills be placed in his left sock, 'just in case tipping is recommended where I'm going.' BroadwayWorld remembers the legend below.

Theatre Works Presents Frank O'Donnell's 'A Christmas Carol' Spin-Off, A CHRISTMAS CARMELLA, Now thru 12/15

Veteran Rhode Island comedian Frank O'Donnell is bringing his third holiday play to the stage. 'A CHRISTMAS CARMELLA' is a spin-off from the two 'ANT'NY CLAUS' plays O'Donnell wrote and co-directed in 2011 and 2012. 'In this one, Ant'ny's mother-in-law - Carmella Senior - is asked to tell her grandkids the classic holiday story, 'A Christmas Carol,' says O'Donnell. 'But, she gave the book away, so she's got to tell it from memory. And that's where the fun starts.'

Kimmel Center's SHOW STOPPERS Musical Theater Program to Wrap with Winter Revue, 12/13

Kimmel Center Education Department's new Show Stoppers after-school musical theater program is gearing up for its inaugural winter revue in Perelman Theater on December 13 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to experience this free community concert that celebrates the musical theater, dance and vocal talents of over 40 regional students, grades 9 to 12, who after a series of weekly after school instruction sessions with renowned teaching artists, will showcase their skills in a culminating performance. The evening program is an original work by teaching artist Jennifer Blaine in collaboration with the staff that showcases the many talents of the students as they express their concerns and solutions to the existing problems of budget crisis and the arts. The concert concludes Show Stoppers Fall session.
