Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company, continues its 30th Anniversary Season with a production of the thriller Sleuth.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present 'It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play,' written by Joe Landry, on Nov. 26, the Saturday following Thanksgiving, also known as Small Business Saturday, at 3 p.m. Joe Landry's fresh interpretation of this nostalgic classic is fast becoming America's favorite new holiday tradition. The award-winning adaptation has been named one of the top ten most produced plays in the country by American Theatre Magazine.

Spotlight Theatre Company presents 'It's A Wonderful Life: a live radio play' and 'A Christmas Carol: a live radio play' by Joe Landry and Kevin Connors, a delightful holiday repertory! Directed by Andy Anderson and Kris Graves, the shows run November 18 - December 18, 2016.

The season-opener will run September 9-25. Started in 1998, Spotlight Theatre Company begins its 19th season this August. After beginning in Westminster, they made their home in the quaint 70 seat theatre in the West Colfax E-vents Center located in the heart of Lakewood and in 2008 made the move to Old Towne Lowry to the John Hand Theater in Colorado Free University.

The interpretation and staging of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY by director/actor Tim Shawver and his fellow thespians ~ Marshall Glass, Devon Nickel, Katie Larson, Traci McCormick, and Timothy Pittman ~ are impressive, entertaining, and heartwarming. On the air now at AZ Broadway Theatre ~ through December 24th.

The cast of 'It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play' wraps up rehearsals and heads to Bucks County Playhouse this week!

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Staged as a live radio broadcast from 1946, you become the "live studio audience" as you watch and listen to the transformation of "a typical American Dreamer" (with a little help from an apprentice angel) that love, faith, friends, and character, will be rewarded in this classic American tale.

In a departure from traditional seasonal fare, two local theater companies are bringing us back to the simpler days of yesteryear, staging live radio productions of Christmas shows set in the 1940s. Stoneham Theatre offers the frothy, musical bagatelle CHRISTMAS ON THE AIR while Merrimack Repertory Theatre presents an adaptation of the holiday film classic, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY. Replete with evocative sound effects and on-air commercial messages, both plays invite audience participation for applause and a range of emotional reactions, to replicate a live studio broadcast.

Rover Dramawerks is pleased to partner with Dallas-based AmeriStage Players to present It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, by Joe Landry. Performances will be at Rover's theatre in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances are Fridays, December 11 and 18 at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays, December 12 and 19 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays, December 13 and 20 at 2:00 p.m. Plus a special 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on Christmas Eve, December 24.
