This week has seen the launch of ITV’s new series, Unsaid Stories. Comprised of short 15-minute films that respond to the Black Lives Matter movement, the project was made in July under Covid-19 filming restrictions. The films are part of ITV’s own efforts to enhance diversity and representation in their work, after the Black Lives Matter movement has exposed the urgent need for organisations and individuals to address systemic racism. The launch of their ‘Diversity Acceleration Plan’ on 9th July follows the lead of many other media outlets and arts organisations.

As previously announced at ComicCon@Home, AMC's The Walking Dead will air its season 10 finale on Sunday, October 4 at 9pm ET/8c immediately followed by the series premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond at 10pm ET/9c. The Personal History of David Copperfield leads the list of nominations for the 2019 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs), announced this morning by British actors Naomi Ackie and Joe Cole at the Regent Street Cinema. Armando Iannucci's fresh take on Dickens' novel about the ups and downs in the life of its eponymous character is recognised for Best British Independent Film and Best Screenplay sponsored by BBC Films, amongst nine other awards. Dev Patel is nominated for Best Actor, with co-stars Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie competing in the respective Supporting categories. The film also features heavily in the technical categories with nominations for Best Casting sponsored by Casting Society of America & Spotlight, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing sponsored by Intermission Film, Best Make Up & Hair Design sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Best Production Design sponsored by Studio Juice.

Joe Cole has joined the cast of Pulse Films' upcoming drama 'Gangs of London,' according to Variety. Sope Dirisu ('The Huntsman: Winter's War') has also been cast in the series, which air on Sky in the U.K. and CineMax in the U.S.

Director Florence Kosky All The World's A Stage is a film that aims to break down the stigmas surrounding suicide and mental health after the director experienced the loss of one of her friends. Since it's festival run, this wonderful film screened at the Oscar qualifying Hollyshorts Film Festival and will be screening at Raindance Film Festival and Norwich Film Festival. Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre, Paul Roseby, has today become an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and receives the prestigious Queen's award in recognition of his efforts and achievements at the National Youth Theatre.
