Theatre Artist's Studio, the Valley's only Equity Member Project Code theatre, will present a special event on Sunday, May 13, in celebration of Mother's Day. Music and Musings in Celebration of Mothers will feature popular songs from Broadway and the great American Songbook and amusing and poignant readings about mothers by Studio members and others.

Mildred "Babe" Didrikson excelled in basketball, baseball, track and field and golf before her death in 1956 of colon cancer at age 45. America's first female golf celebrity in the 1940s and early '50s, Didrikson won 17 straight tournaments as an amateur before turning pro and was one of the founders of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Prior to that, she gained two gold medals and one silver medal in track and field in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics.
