Registration for TW Kids' Summer Program Now Open

TheatreWorks Kids (TW Kids) registration is now open for a three week-long program beginning Monday, July 21, 2014. Led by instructor Amy Emke and musical director Joanne F. Archibald, students ages 7 to 18 will rehearse and perform a newly adapted production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Classes begin with a two hour introduction on Saturday July 19 and continue from Monday July 21 to Friday August 8 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.

ACTS of Concord Present ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, 5/30-6/1

The Alexander Children's Theatre School (ACTS) of Concord, MA is pleased to announce their Spring, 2014 production of Once On This Island. The Tony Award-nominated musical will play four performances, May 30 through June 1 at the Umbrella Community Arts Center (40 Stow Street, Concord, MA).

It's Official! Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly, Cush Jumbo Set for Jez Butterworth's THE RIVER at Circle in the Square This Fall

We've been reporting on the buzz since January, but now Hugh Jackman is making Broadway fan's May dreams come true! It's just been officially announced that Sonia Friedman Productions will present the Royal Court Theatre production of THE RIVER, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo, and directed by Ian Rickson.

Bookworks Presents It's About Books April Featuring THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMAGE OF HAROLD FRY

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce is just that; a pilgrimage that was not planned and not one that Harold particularly wanted to make. Rather it was a pilgrimage that he was driven to make by a particular set of circumstances that coincided with a particular set of emotional demons that he had been suppressing for a particularly long period of time. We never know, and Harold certainly didn't, when those things that we have carefully placed beneath the surface surface eliciting erratic, unplanned, unpredictable behavior.

Walnut Street Theatre Honors US Airways With Edwin Forrest Award at FROM HOLLYWOOD TO BROADWAY Tonight

Walnut Street Theatre is pleased to announce that it will honor US Airways, the official airline for Walnut Street Theatre, with the 2014 Edwin Forrest Award. The award will be presented to Robert Ciminelli, VP of Customer Experience and a Walnut Street Theatre Trustee, at its annual Gala. The evening's events will begin with a 90-minute concert hosted by Ben Lipitz, who Walnut audiences will remember from The Producers and God of Carnage.
