Julie Halston (You Can't Take It With You) and Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!) are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation to veteran female and male character actors for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production. 

The Actors' Equity Foundation's 2015 Clarence Derwent Awards for most promising female and male performers on the New York metropolitan scene have gone to Phillipa Soo (Hamilton) and Josh Grisetti (It Shoulda Been You). 

Stuart Thompson and Tim Levy for NT America, producers of the acclaimed Broadway production of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, have announced that a US National Tour of the popular play will launch in October 2016.

Second Stage Theatre welcomes film star Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Dear John, Mamma Mia!, upcoming Ted 2 and Pan) in her off-Broadway debut opposite Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, upcoming in NBC's The Slap) in the world premiere production of Neil LaBute's drama, The Way We Get By. Signature Theatre has announced that the unique World of the Play series continues with "Exploring Outsider Art." This World of the Play event will explore the work of Outsider Artists like the self-taught Nukain Mabusa, whose life and work inspired Athol Fugard's The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek. The panel of experts for this exciting discussion include gallerist Andrew Edlin, arts journalist Edward M. Gomez, and curator Kristin Sancken. The discussion will be led by moderator Brian Phillips. The event is free and open to the general public (no reservations required).

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will play the Palace Theatre for a limited engagement from June 9-14.

Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: FISH IN THE DARK welcomes back a star, we find out this year's Theatre World Award winners, and THE AUDIENCE returns to the West End!

The New York Drama Critics' Circle today named Between Riverside and Crazy, by Stephen Adly Guirgis, best play of the 2014-15 season. Hamilton was named best musical.

Directed by Edward Torres, MACBETH is currently touring the five boroughs though May 14, and will have a sit-down run at The Public Theater, May 17 through June 7, with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 20. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Signature Theatre is currently presenting What I Did Last Summer, written by A.R. Gurney and directed by Jim Simpson through June 7 with a May 17 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). DINNER WITH THE BOYS is a new comedy by the beloved actor and writer Dan Lauria (LOMBARDI, 'The Wonder Years' and 'Sullivan & Son') and opens tonight, May 4, off-Broadway at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42 St.) in New York City. It is produced by Pat Addiss and Olympus Theatricals.

Turning a profit in the theatre business is challenging at best but it isn't surprising that MOTOWN THE MUSICAL easily recouped its initial investment during its run on Broadway, or its outlay for the First National Tour, now playing at the Hollywood Pantages. The popularity of the Motown sound is undeniable. Even if you wanted to, it's impossible to keep from being carried away by the irresistible groove of the music. And why would you even want to try?

The show is nothing flashy, and it doesn't try to be any more than it is. But if you already don't love Annie, this production won't change your mind.

The world premiere production of HAMILTON, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, concludes its run tonight, May 3, at The Public Theater. But this is not the end of the road for the company. HAMILTON will start performances on Broadway on July 13 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where tickets are already on sale.
