Today's big news: Maria Dizzia joins Second Stage Theatre's THE LAYOVER this evening, and BEARS IN SPACE, A TASTE OF HONEY and MISSED CONNECTIONS all begin tonight Off-Broadway!

As previously announced, Maria Dizzia assumes the role of Shellie in the world premiere production of THE LAYOVER, written by Leslye Headland and directed by Trip Cullman, today, September 6. She returns to Second Stage Theatre after her acclaimed performance in the title role of Eurydice, during the company's 28th season.

For the past three years some of New York's most joyous theatrical celebrations have graced the city as the first September chill starts to pervade Central Park's Delecorte, when the Public Theater's Public Works program assembles a cast of over 200 strong to saturate a classic text with the flavor of the five boroughs.

This weekend, we sadly say goodbye to three groundbreaking productions as they take their final bows: AN ACT OF GOD, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME and LES MISERABLES. 

It's another sad day at Hamilton, as tonight the cast will wish au revoir to Tony winner Renee Elise Goldsberry, who will play her final performance as Angelica Schuyler. In honor of her last performance, we've collected some of our favorite moments of the star in action below!

The Public's Mobile Unit Production of HAMLET, featuring Olivier Award-winning actor Chukwudi Iwuji, directed by Patricia McGregor, just launched a free, three-week tour to the five boroughs.
