Casting has been announced for the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. This lavish new production launches this September at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, under the auspices of the Center Theatre Group, and will then tour North America for multiple seasons, playing multi-week and week-long engagements. THE SOUND OF MUSIC premieres at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on December 29, 2015 through January 3, 2016.

Casting has been announced for the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. THE SOUND OF MUSIC premieres at Atlanta's Fox Theatre March 1-6, 2016, as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2015/2016 season.

In a record-breaking year for the number of prizes and total cash awarded, Lauren Michelle, of Los Angeles, won the $15,000 First Prize in the finals of the 2015 Lotte Lenya Competition, sponsored by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music and held on April 18, 2015, in Kilbourn Hall of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. Robin Bailey, of London, U.K., and Jordan Davidson, of Philadelphia, N.Y., both won Second Prizes of $10,000, and two Third Prizes of $7,500 each were awarded to Adam Fieldson, of Lincoln, Neb., and Michael Maliakel, of New York.

One of the reasons I became enamored of acting as a child was the opportunity to put on period costumes and to imagine I was going back in time. It's one of the giddy pleasures of being an actor-dress up! And there are few periods that are quite as distinctive and fun as the 18th century. Apropos of the show's most famous song and its opening lyrics, this September is precisely the time to remember the longest running show in American theatre history, THE FANTASTICKS, especially as it celebrates its 20,000th Off-Broadway performance on September 15.

This Thursday, August 9, 106.7 LITE FM's Delilah will emcee this week's Broadway in Bryant Park alongside the cast of I Forgive You Ronald Reagan including PJ Benjamin, Danielle Faitelson, Robert Emmet Lunney and Patricia Richardson. THE FANTASTICKS, the world's longest running musical, will celebrate a record breaking 20,000th New York performance, on Sunday, September 15, 2013, announced producers Catherine Russell and Al Parinello. The milestone will mark the first time a production (on Broadway or off-Broadway) has ever reached 20,000 performances and will be commemorated in a month long celebration that includes performing at Broadway in Bryant Park and Little Italy, and with The Museum of The City of New York's future cyber gallery highlighting the history of the production.

Brett Smock and Drew Brody will present an Industry-only reading of their new musical: The Mudge Boy, on November 29th, 2012 at 3pm. The event will feature Donna McKechnie (Irene), James Crichton (Duncan Mudge), Mike Masters (Edgar Mudge), John Arthur Greene (Perry Foley), Jennifer Simard (Emily Foley), Brent Black (Juster Pelkey / Merritt Foley), Lilli Cooper (April), Caitlin Kinnunen (Tonya), Bart Mather (Travis), Jim Schubin (Scotty).This powerful, controversial new work is based on Michael Burke's 2003 film, The Mudge Boy and has been in development for several years. This reading will serve as its official launch.
