The world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's "Forever," directed by Center Theatre Group Associate Artistic Director Neel Keller, opens this Sunday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre. A DouglasPlus presentation, "Forever" was commissioned and developed by CTG. Performances continue through October 26 (previews tomorrow, October 9 through the 11th).

Pittsburgh Public Theater's 40th anniversary Season of Legends continues with the world premiere of L'Hotel, written by Broadway veteran Ed Dixon and directed by The Public's Producing Artistic Director, Ted Pappas. Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF), now heading into its 12th season, welcomes springtime in NYC with three weeks of new theatre at HERE's Mainstage, April 2 to 19, 2014. Seventeen of America's best emerging writers and theatrical visionaries will share their stories that interpret our history and our times through live performances fusing theatre, dance, music, media and visual arts. A special addition to this year's festival will be the U.S. premiere of Two of Us, DUTF's international selection from Romania.

Writers In Treatment will honor Carrie White, Hollywood hairdresser to the stars and the author of "Upper Cut,' with the 'Experience, Strength and Hope' Award on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center. Ed Begley Jr. will host the event and actress Joanna Cassidy ("Body of Proof," "Six Feet Under") will present the award to Carrie White. The evening will also feature a hilarious performance by stand-up comedian Alonzo Bodden (winner of "Last Comic Standing," frequent guest on NPR's "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me") as well as a special guest appearance by actress and recovery advocate Mackenzie Phillips.
