Guillermo del Toro to Direct PINOCCHIO for Netflix

Fresh off his Oscar win for “The Shape of Water,” Guillermo del Toro will make his animated feature film directing debut with 'Pinocchio,' according to Variety. Del Toro, who will write and produce the film as well, has received the green light from Netflix to film the stop motion musical version of the classic children's tale about a puppet who wants to be a real live boy.
Tickets Are Scarce for Back-to-Back Neil Gaiman & David Sedaris Benaroya Hall Events

Scattered and single seats are all that remains for the November 18th Neil Gaiman appearance at Benaroya Hall. Historically David Sedaris sells out his Seattle events and it appears as if this year will be no different. At present, very few Sedaris tickets remain available for his November 19th appearance. Both events are presented by Northwest Associated Arts (NWAA), KNKX (88.5 FM) and The Stranger at beautiful Benaroya Hall. Amazon Studios today announced it has signed an overall television deal with visionary and award-winning writer Neil Gaiman. The creator of the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Good Omens and the Hugo Award-winning book American Gods, Gaiman will exclusively work with Amazon Studios on the creation of television series which will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

It is a fantastic time for fantasy novels. More and more are being picked up by studios for development thanks to the smashing success of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and, most recently, Game of Thrones. The latest series to be picked up is Susan Dennard's Witchlands. The series begins with TRUTHWITCH, continues with WINDWITCH, and has a spin-off entitled SIGHTWITCH. The next book, entitled BLOODWITCH, comes out on February 12, 2019, with another two books still to be released.
