Berkshire Playwrights Lab's Inaugural Inaugural Radius Playwrights Festival Calling for Submissions!

Berkshire Playwrights Lab (BPL), in association with Saint James Place, invites submissions for the first-ever Radius Playwrights Festival. The Radius Playwrights Festival features new short plays created by local talent-anyone within a 50-miles radius of Saint James Place may submit. BPL will present fully staged readings of the five selected plays. This will be the FIRST theatrical presentation in the much-anticipated performance space at Saint James Place in downtown Great Barrington.

Thunderstorms rumbled through Richmond in the afternoon, but by 6:30 pm it was a picture perfect Berkshire evening on Thursday, July 14. Jugglers and a brass band welcomed the supporters of WAM Theatre as they packed the bucolic grounds of Hilltop Orchards in Richmond to celebrate and support the company's seventh season at the company's successful Stars in the Orchards Benefit Night.
Berkshire Playwrights Lab to Present MATCH

The Berkshire Playwrights Lab (BPL) will present the next play in the free Staged Reading Series on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 7:30 pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. The play follows Great Barrington's Dig+Dine outdoor dining event. 'Match,' by critically-acclaimed playwright Jennifer Maisel, is the story of a much-needed kidney, the donor and her intentions and the lives the decision to give impacts. 'Mother of the Maid,' a play first presented through Berkshire Playwrights Lab's Free Staged Reading Series, is now in full production at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox.

Shakespeare & Company's 'VANYA & SONIA' to Begin 8/6

With a healthy dose of hilarity, heart and humility Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike joins the Bernstein repertory with director Matthew Penn at the helm. Christopher Durang's Tony-award winning homage to Chekhov leaves no stone unturned when it comes to family dynamics, sibling rivalries, love, lust, hopes and dreams in this razor sharp comedy. The stalwart cast includes audience favorites Tod Randolph and Elizabeth Aspenlieder, and S&Co. newcomers Jim Frangione, Angel Moore, Mat Leonard and Olivia Saccomanno. Performances run in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre August 6 - September 14. Press Opening is Friday, August 15 at 8:00pm.
