New Village Arts Presents THE 39 STEPS This April

New Village Arts (NVA), North County's cultural hub, will present San Diego comedic royalty in THE 39 STEPS, a parody play adapted by Patrick Barlow, from the novel by John Buchan and the movie by Alfred Hitchcock. THE 39 STEPS will be directed by Dr. AJ Knox.

Sam Mendes to Direct New Play by Jez Butterworth

Following their multi-award-winning triumph, The Ferryman, Jez Butterworth, writer of Jerusalem, and Sam Mendes, director of The Lehman Trilogy, return to the West End to bring you The Hills of California. The latest play from the acclaimed playwright will run at Harold Pinter Theatre, for a limited season, from 27 January to 15 June 2024.

ARC Performs a Staged Reading Series at Marin Shakes

Review: THE RIVER at Ensemble

What did our critic think of THE RIVER at Ensemble? In the late 1950's through the 1980s The Theatre of the Absurd theatrical movement was the intellectual rage. Based on the concept of Existentialism which asks, 'what happens when human existence lacks meaning or purpose and communication breaks down.' The structure of the plays often centered on the finishing point,, being the same as the starting point with the ultimate conclusion being silence.

THINGS I KNOW TO BE TRUE Extends Through February 26

David Mirvish and The Company Theatre have announced that due to popular demand the Canadian premiere production of Andrew Bovell's drama, Things I Know to be True, directed by Philip Riccio will extend performances through February 26, 2023.
