American Ballet Theatre returns to the Metropolitan Opera House for the first time in three years for its Summer season, June 13–July 16, 2022.

LA Opera will present the grandest of grand operas, Giuseppe Verdi's Aida, from May 12 through June 12, 2022, conducted by Music Director James Conlon. 

The Joyce Theater Foundation has announced the long-awaited return of Pacific Northwest Ballet, the company’s first full NYC season in six years. Presenting two mixed-bill programs, the company will play Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, kicking-off with a special gala performance on June 22 followed by two repertory programs through June 26.

The 'American' in American Ballet Theatre is more evident than ever before. The pristine presentation consisted of three different and unique pieces using music from America's most distinguished contemporary Composers. Leonard Bernstein, the varied well-known composers and lyricists of songs Tony Bennett sings, and noted jazz pianist Jason Moran; with contemporary, audacious, well-known Choreographers Alexei Ratmansky (ABT's Artist in Residence) the legendary Alonzo King (his first piece for ABT), and the whimsical, all-out entertaining Jessica Lang.

The Kennedy Center's 50th anniversary (whose celebrations have largely been pushed back a year due to the pandemic) coincides with the golden anniversary of the annual residency there of New York's American Ballet Theatre, whose first performance there came the day after the venerable Washington Performing Arts center opened in 1971.

The Washington Ballet brings the quintessential story ballet Giselle to the Warner Theatre in six performances, April 28–May 1.

International guest artists Vadim Muntagirov (Principal of The Royal Ballet), Tatiana Melnik (Principal at Hungarian National Ballet) and Brandon Lawrence (Principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet) join the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Brandon Phillips, alongside the dancers of Cape Town City Ballet at select performances.

Kennedy Center has announced events and performances for the months of March – April 2022!

The Washington Ballet will premiere its long-awaited production of Swan Lake, February 9–13 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Company was just days away from debuting this new production of the iconic ballet in March of 2020, when the start of the pandemic forced an indefinite postponement. 

Exploring the breadth and depth of dance, Segerstrom Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its exciting Spring dance programming. American Ballet Theatre will present a mixed repertory program performed March 16–19, 2022.  Dancing with the Stars Live Tour 2022, the longest running tour to date, will be dancing on March 17, 2022.

Chautauqua Institution and The Washington Ballet today jointly announced a partnership that will bring the Company to the Institution's grounds in August 2022 for two weeks of public programs and performances — including with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra — plus workshops with the Chautauqua School of Dance.

The Paul Taylor Dance Company has announced additions to the organization. Jessica Ferretti and Austin Kelly have joined the world-renowned Company, and Michael Apuzzo and alumnus Richard Chen See will join the administrative team.

Chita Rivera has been announced as the host of United in Song: Celebrating the American Dream, a new New Year's Eve special on PBS. The special will also feature performances by Lea Salonga, Drew Gehling, Paulo Szot, David Archuleta, Judy Collins, Amber Merritt, Jencarlos Carnela, Deborah Cox, and The American Pops Orchestra.
