Yesterday evening, a couple that has been together for 33 years married in the best way theatregoers could hope to do: backstage at THE VISIT on Broadway.

The Visit, the final musical ever by legendary Tony Award-winning duo John Kander and Fred Ebb, opened on April 23, 2015 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). Legendary Broadway director and producer Hal Prince recently stopped by to greet Chita Rivera, and BroadwayWorld was on the scene! Check out the photo of the two below!

James S. Turley just led a celebration to support American theatre at the annual Chairman's Awards Gala last night, April 13th at The Pierre New York (2 East 61st Street at Fifth Avenue) . The Chairman's Awards Gala supports the creation of theatrical works and arts education at theatres across America. The evening's master of ceremonies was Tony Nominee Bryce Pinkham, who is currently starring in Broadway's The Heidi Chronicles and received a Tony nomination for his performance in A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. Producers R. Erin Craig and La Vie Productions just presented a benefit staged reading of the Newtown docudrama 26 Pebbles, a stirring new play that explores a community in transition after a tragedy, by Eric Ulloa and directed by Igor Goldin. The cast featured Broadway veterans Karen Mason,Richard Masur, Mike McGowan, Mamie Parris, and Jennifer Swiderski at the one-night only event hosted by the Culture Project at The Lynn Redgrave Theater (45 Bleecker Street) last night, December 15th, in commemoration of the second anniversary of the tragedy at Sandy Hook. Proceeds from the event will benefit a collection of charities chosen by the citizens of the City of Newtown, whose voices and testimonies are evocatively presented-verbatim-in 26 Pebbles.
