Just yesterday, the company of Beautiful celebrated a milestone- two years on Broadway! Since opening on Broadway on January 12, 2014, Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter has broken all box office records at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it is now the highest grossing production in the theatre's history. American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) returns to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue), playing through Sunday, January 3rd. Nikki Feirt Atkins is Founder and Producing Artistic Director of ADM21. The new Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof is got into the holiday spirit by celebrating the first night of Chanukah on Sunday at DOROT on Upper East Side. DOROT, an innovative leader in mobilizing volunteers of all ages to improve the lives and health of the elderly, welcomed members of the Fiddler cast to perform 'If I Were a Rich Man' and 'Sunrise, Sunset' and visit with the seniors. Billy Porter, who has played over 800 performances in the role of 'Lola' and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in Broadway's KINKY BOOTS, took the stage in his final historic performance last night, November 20, 2015. A brand-new promo for Broadway's LES MISERABLES just hit YouTube (watch it below!), and it looks like Alfie Boe isn't long for the part of 'Jean Valjean'. The video announces the actor's departure date as February 28th, 2016. No word yet on who will replace him in the lead role, but BWW will keep our ears to the ground!

Comedy and television icon Bob Saget just stepped into the role of 'Pastor Greg' in the Tony Award-nominated comedy Hand to God beginning last week through the production's previously announced closing on January 3, 2016. Saget returns to Broadway after making his Broadway debut in 2007 in the Tony-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. He will join current Hand to Godcast members Steven Boyer, Geneva Carr, Sarah Stiles, and Michael Oberholtzer.
On November 8th, Playwrights Horizons' celebrated the opening night of Hir, a new play by Obie Award-winning Theater Artist Taylor Mac. Directed by Niegel Smith, the play is the second production of Playwrights Horizons' 2015/2016 Season and is playing at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Stephen Karam's The Humans featuring Cassie Beck ,Reed Birney, Jayne Houdyshell, Lauren Klein, Arian Moayed and Sarah Steele, just opened earlier this week, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, the show might have a life after off Broadway. David Rooney writes that producer Scott Rudin will transfer the production (full cast included) to Broadway in 2016.
