Review: Nashville Story Garden's U.S. Premiere of Lucy Kirkwood's THE WELKIN Will Have Audiences Talking
by Jeffrey Ellis - Sep 24, 2022

Nothing engages the theaterati in Nashville and the surrounding provinces as the production of an eagerly anticipated new play no one’s done before in these parts, but about which we’ve read glowing reviews. The very promise of something new to energize the cultural zeitgeist – particularly under the aegis of Nashville Story Garden (a creative collective whose work always generates major buzz); something new and unseen from across the pond which will provide a showcase for the remarkable talents of some of the region’s most respected actors – is virtually guaranteed to be a “must-see” for a theater-going public more accustomed to titles with which they are already quite often overly familiar.

BWW Review: Nashville Story Garden's Stunning IRONBOUND Closes All-Too-Brief Run Tonight
by Jeffrey Ellis - Feb 2, 2019

But in Martyna Majok's exquisitely crafted and beautifully written play - Ironbound - which ends its all-too-brief Nashville run tonight, there is a glimmer (a very faint one, truth be told, but a glimmer nonetheless) of hope that may augur a brighter future ahead.

The Music Of Les Six Comes to Town Stages
by Stephi Wild - Sep 1, 2018

Classical music has gotten a bad rap. Shushing, rustling candy wrappers, stuck in a row of uncomfortable chairs trying not to fall asleep while waiting for intermission to cough or use the bathroom. Forget all of it. That's not how this music was meant to be performed, so we're not gonna do it. Get up, get a drink whenever you want. Cough, slurp, chat as much as you please.

by A.A. Cristi - May 26, 2017

Cabaret Artists Chad M. Ryan and Brooke M. Haney's first collaborative endeavor, Brooke and Chad Are… Just as Gay as You. (A Queer Cabaret of Chaos and Clarity), premieres this year during Pride Week on Tuesday, June 20th at 6:30 pm at the Duplex. Created by Haney and Ryan from their combined personal "GAY" experiences, the show explores the themes of queerness and identity and the unlikely friendship between a Gay man and a Queer woman, all under their shared love of music and storytelling. Filled with chaotic  humour, truth telling vulnerability and occasional crisp clarity, the evening is sure to be a 'gay ol time.'  The duo has also partnered with Shining Hope for Communities to raise money and build awareness for Margaret's Safe Place, a project of Shining Hope. To that end, a portion of the proceeds from every ticket will go to support Shining Hope.
