Amas Musical Theatre to Present BREAD AND ROSES A New Musical as Part of the Dare to Be Different Series

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present Bread and Roses, with book & lyrics by Jill Abramovitz and music by Brad Alexander, the third and final offering of Dare To Be Different, the previously announced series of new musicals and one-night only special events being held at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street 10th Avenue & 53rd Street). Direct from a hugely successful Broadway revival, this sweeping romantic Tony-Award winning musical tells the story of Amalia (Jennifer Ellis) and Georg (Sam Simahk), co-workers in a department store, who fall in love without knowing it through anonymous lonely heart letters. Directed and Choreographed by Elliot Norton and IRNE Award-winner Ilyse Robbins, performances run November 24 December 23, 2017. The Press Opening is Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 8:00pm.

It should come as absolutely no surprise that the current production onstage at Massey Performing Arts Center in Nashville, courtesy of the astonishing Belmont University Musical Theatre program, is possibly as good or even better than any show we've seen put on over the years by the venerated musical theater training school. In fact, BUMT has produced so many remarkable performers over the years that we may all rest assured that musical theater in America (if not the world) will continue to grow and prosper, thanks to the continued supply of new blood from Belmont.
