A Sephardic-themed production of Shakespeare's MERCHANT OF VENICE -- with an added score of Jewish ladino songs -- debuts this month at the Center for Jewish History (15 W. 16 St.) in New York City. MERCHANT is the first of three professional productions with Sephardic themes to be presented by American Sephardi Federation; subsequent productions include NABUCCO in April and OTHELLO in June.

Three Sephardic-themed productions -- two Shakespeare classics and a Verdi opera -- will be presented in early 2016 Off-Broadway in the theater located at the Center for Jewish History (15 W. 16 St.) in New York City, starting with MERCHANT OF VENICE January 13-21, followed by NABUCCO April 6-17 and OTHELLO June 16-30.

Yesterday (5 October), at the launch event in London for Motown the Musical, Cedric Neal (Berry Gordy) and Lucy St. Louis (Diana Ross) were announced to lead the cast in the West End production, opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. London previews will begin on 11 February 2016, with press night on 8 March 2016, with the show booking to 22 October 2016.

David Serero to Play Final Performance at the Snapple Theatre, Dec 17

David Serero, the internationally-renowned baritone known for his performances on world stages in theater and opera, returns to New York - following his success in concert here last year - with his newest show, 'DAVID SERERO on Broadway' for three concert dates at the Snapple Theatre (1627 Broadway at 50th St.). Serero will play his final performance on December 17 at 8:30 p.m.
