Extra, extra! Newsies is coming to Netflix! Following a successful and record-breaking cinematic debut, 'Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!' will be released on Netflix on September 5, 2017.

When David Moscow made his 'Big'-screen debut in 1988, it was huge. Penny Marshall had plucked this precocious, 11-year-old kid from the Bronx to play the younger version of Tom Hanks' character, Josh Baskin. This comic fantasy-fable about a boy who literally became 'Big' overnight, was a giant box-office hit. Moscow was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actor in a Comedy. 'Newsies' is the Disney produced musical that was inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in which a group of ragtag ruffian youth, who were the breadwinners for their impoverished immigrant families, stood up to the powerful Joseph Pulitzer, the owner of New York's major newspaper. The show is now on stage at Porthouse Theatre, in its area premiere, on the grounds of Blossom Center.
