Barefoot Theatre Company celebrated the 2015 Vassallo Awards with a Spring Gala at the American Ballroom Theater in Manhattan. The ceremony, hosted by VH1's Ellie Lee, honored artistic achievement as well as mentorship and educational outreach to the younger generation of artists in memory of Ed Vassallo. Vassallo's career spanned 20 years and included work producing for the LAByrinth Theatre Company and volunteering with the 52nd Street Project.

On Monday, June 22, Barefoot Theatre Company celebrates the second annual Vassallo Awards with a Spring Gala beginning at 7:15 pm at the American Ballroom Theater on 25 West 31st Street in Manhattan. Actress Anna Chlumsky (VEEP) and playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis (Riverside and Crazy) are among those honored for artistic achievements.

A revised version of Joe Pintauro's 1991 play RAFT OF THE MEDUSA, being produced Off-Broadway this fall by the Barefoot Theatre Company, will kick off the 9-week Stripped Festival this fall with performances through 22 at Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village. RAFT OF THE MEDUSA will be followed in the Stripped Festival by performances of Israel Horovitz's new work GLOUCESTER BLUE and the premiere of Randall Colburn's play VERSE CHORUS VERSE about a mystery surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain.

The series, who's tagline reads 'no props, no sets, just words' which take places on Thursday, December 18, Friday, December 19, and Saturday, December 20, 2008 boasts live music and free drinks. Following a highly successful workshop production in 2007, Barefoot Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of 'Dog Day Afternoon', a new play based on actual events that inspired the academy award winning film.
