Asolo Repertory Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the final show in its 64th season, MAN OF LA MANCHA. Peter Rothstein returns to direct this reimagined musical which was written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion.
The Players' stage comes roaring back to life with Cabaret, the daring, bold, and provocative classic musical, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff. This celebrated, show-stopping, musical masterpiece is the first mainstage Players' production to return indoors since February of 2020. Cabaret opens on Thursday, June 23rd and runs until Sunday, July 3rd.

Asolo Rep proudly kicks off its 60th season with a highly imaginative production of Meredith Willson's Tony Award-winning exuberant masterpiece THE MUSIC MAN. Directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun (Newsies), this tap dancing-infused production stars legendary Broadway song and dance man Noah Racey as Harold Hill. Calhoun and Racey previously collaborated on the smash hit world premiere of Noah Racey's Pulse at Asolo Rep in 2013. The perfect family holiday outing, THE MUSIC MAN begins previews on November 13, opens November 17 and runs through December 29 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.
Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning's popular Music Mondays series features informal performances and lively conversations with renowned performers and conductors. Monday Music sessions are held on Mondays through March 26. The morning sessions, hosted by Edward Alley, are 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road. Tickets for Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota's 22nd season will be available online beginning July 15 at www.artistseriesconcerts.org. The season, which features a dynamic line-up of established and emerging classical, cabaret, jazz and pops artists, runs September 2017 through May 2018. The performances will be held at a variety of venues throughout Sarasota County.
