Star of stage and screen, Alan Cumming will host this year's INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARDS, to be held in New York City on November 21st.

Nickelodeon and Masterworks Broadway recently announced that the Broadway-bound The SpongeBob Musical will release a cast album following a successful run at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theater.

Directed by Daniel Sullivan, Troilus and Cressida began performances on Tuesday, July 19 and will run through Sunday, August 14. BroadwayWorld was there for opening night last night, and you can check out photos below!

Earlier this week, the Tony Award winning hit musical, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS teamed up with Steps Dance School to offer a free dance class for kids ages 8 to 12. The class allowed the kids to make their 'Broadway debuts' on stage at the Palace Theatre. Conducted by Associate Director/Choreographer Dontee Kiehn and assisted by cast members from AN AMERICAN IN PARIS including Tony nominee Leanne Cope and Associate Choreographer Sean Kelly, the students learned some of the actual Tony Award-winning choreography by Christopher Wheeldon featured in the musical. At Sunday's Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Jennifer Grey revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she turned down an offer to appear in ABC's upcoming remake of the 1980's classic DIRTY DANCING.

Commissioned by Alexander Hamilton in 1790, August 4th  marked the anniversary of the founding of the US Coast Guard.  To commemorate the occasion members of the Broadway musical Hamilton joined Capt. Matthew Meilstrup for a ride-in of the Cutter Eagle up the Hudson River.  

Atlantic Theater Company just announced casting for the world premiere musical The Band's Visit, directed by Lortel and Obie Award winner David Cromer and featuring a book by Drama Desk Award nominee Itamar Moses, an original score by three-time Tony Award nominee David Yazbekand choreography by Lee Sher.
