Jonathan Groff will receive the Point HORIZON Award at tonight's (April 13) Point Honors gala at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. The gala program also features the presentation of the Point Courage Award to actor Jeffrey Tambor. The evening is a benefit for Point Foundation, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

Point Foundation (Point) will honor actor Jeffrey Tambor, the 2015 Golden Globe winner for his performance in the hit Amazon series 'Transparent,' with the Point Courage Award. Happy Birthday, Christopher Sieber! Sieber made his Broadway debut as Agis in the musical Triumph of Love with Betty Buckley and F. Murray Abraham. Following this role, he appeared as a replacement in the roles of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Trevor Graydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Billy Flynn in Chicago. Sieber played the role of Rapunzel's Prince and shared the role of the Wolf with Gregg Edelman in the revival of Into the Woods in 2002.
In March 2005, Sieber originated the role of Sir Dennis Galahad in the Broadway musical Monty Python's Spamalot. He starred as Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical which opened on Broadway on December 14, 2008, after an out-of-town tryout in Seattle. On March 11, 2011, Sieber replaced Jeffrey Tambor as Georges in the Broadway production of La Cage Aux Folles opposite Harvey Fierstein.

Sundance Institute presents its U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, running today, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Emmy Award-winning actor Bradley Whitford ('Transparent,' 'Trophy Wife') brings some daddy issues to the Nine-Nine as he is set to guest-star as Jake Peralta's (Andy Samberg) father. Captain Roger Peralta, a regional airline pilot, is a charming guy with a history of letting Jake down. But Jake is hoping that will all change when he comes to town for a father-son weekend in Brooklyn. Whitford will first be seen in the episode airing Sunday, March 8 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Film and television stars (and audiences) are sure to come out in droves when funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler take the stage for a final time (so they say!) to host the Golden Globes, tonight on NBC at 8pm/7c. While the annual ceremony wouldn't be as geared toward theatre people as, say, the Tony Awards (June 7th on CBS for those who need a heads-up), this year is a bit different, with a collection of nominees having Broadway experience, and a few films up for nods having ties to theatre as well.
