THEATER 2020, Brooklyn Heights' NY award-winning professional theater company has announced its winter mainstage run of the Stephen Sondheim musical masterpiece “Sunday in the Park with George,” in a limited run of 16 performances, Thursday, February 16th - Sunday, March 12th, 2023.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will open its 43rd Season with the hilarious whodunit, The 39 Steps – a mix of Alfred Hitchcock's juicy spy flick with a dash of vintage Monty Python – from September 14 to October 2, according to Nancy L. Donahue Artistic Director Courtney Sale and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

'Clown Show' is a play about the struggle of two clowns to bring joy. Koko and Pipi test the patience of the theatre manager as they prepare to do their show for adults and kiddies. They worry that in the age of smartphones and texting the children won't be as responsive to live performance as they used to be. But they are determined to use their talents and skills to bring delight to the audience.

'Three on a Match' by Rhett Martinez is an allegorical drama examining the legacy of state terrorism in Latin America. It will be the 50th Anniversary production of IATI Theater Todo Vanguardia, a performing arts organization located at 64 East 4th Street, which is devoted to contemporary, cutting-edge Latino works. The drama examines, absurdly and gravely, the terrifying plague of 'disappearances' during Argentina's 'Dirty War' of 1974-83 and similar experiences of countries across South America in ensuing decades. Written and performed in English, it will be directed by Eric Parness.

THEATER 2020, Brooklyn Heights' NY Innovative Theater Award multi-nominated professional theater company is pleased to announce its Winter 2018 run of the Stephen Sondheim/John Weidman musical Assassins, in a limited run of 16 performances, Thursday, February 22nd - Sunday, March 25th, 2018.

Shakespeare & Company announced today the addition of six new Board members to the Company's Board of Trustees. The new members joining the Board are Sandra Bourgeois, George Camarda, Phoebe L. Giddon, Beverly Hyman, Maureen O'Hanlon, and Scott Rubinow.

Award-winning Retro Productions, under the Artistic Direction of Heather E. Cunningham, opened the critically acclaimed play, And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little, on Friday. The play was written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Paul Zindel. The production runs through May 20that the Gene Frankel Theatre, numerous shows have already sold-out.

JAG Productions will present August Wilson's Fences later this month at the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre in Woodstock, Vermont.  Previews begin April 27, 2017 and performances run through May 7, 2017.

Retro Productions is pleased to announce that they will be donating a percentage of their box-office to the New York City based Neighborhood Cats. A catch, neuter, and release organization that was founded in 1999 by 3 Upper West Side neighbors who came together to help a colony of 30 feral cats.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with a musical saga of immigrant America, Rags. From the creators of Fiddler on the Roof and Wicked, this exhilarating musical follows the journey of Jewish immigrants Rebecca and her son David, who find themselves navigating the teeming, turn-of-the-century tenements of New York. A soaring, tuneful score (music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz) illuminates this sweeping saga (book by Joseph Stein) of dreams and disillusions, love lost and inspiration found, and the heart and soul of the American character. It was declared "A winner, warm and witty. You are tempted to rise cheering," by The Mercury News. Rags will be directed by TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley, who notes "this production could not be timelier. As America debates immigration policies, what better time to present this deeper look at the newcomer's experience." Performances are April 5-30 (press opening: April 8) at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro Street, Mountain View. The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee will pay tribute to Michael Halberstam at the 2016 Equity Jeff Awards Ceremony on Monday, October 17.  The Artistic Director of Writers Theatre since its inception in 1992 is being honored for outstanding theatrical accomplishments and contributions to Chicagoland theatre for the past 25 years.

HERE has announced its 2016-2017 producing season, featuring three HERE Resident Artist world premieres, two international presentations from HERE's renowned Dream Music Puppetry Program, the fifth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).

Lipuma, announces a second two-week extension of Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf: A Parody created by Tim Ryder and Tim Sniffen, written by Tim Sniffen and directed by Stuart Carden and Michael Halberstam.
