David Mamet's SPEED-THE-PLOW opens tonight, August 13, as JALA-LA-PALA in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Below, BroadwayWorld has an exclusive first look at the cast onstage!

David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow will travel to Puerto Rico as 'Jala-la-Pala' and will play four performances at El Corralon de San Jose in Old San Juan directed by Broadway's Luis Salgado, winner of the Best Director Award at the Thespis and Venus/Adonis Festivals for Song of Solomon and Zuccotti Park, respectively. The New York-based cast features Emmanuelle Bordas as Karen, Javier E. Gomez as Gould and Eric-Dominique Perez as Fox. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the company in rehearsal below!

On Monday, April 27th, the Metropolitan Room was packed with Broadway & Aspiring artists who shared new works and cheered each other on at the Broadway Artists & Friends Open Mic & Mingle. Hosted by JERSEY BOYS' Peter Gregus, audiences were treated to an up close look at singers trying out new songs & sharing their stories. The evening was intimate, joyful and full of opportunities for everyone involved to make invaluable industry connections. Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia.
