The Warren Miller Performing Arts Center (Executive Director John Zirkle) in Big Sky Montana announced today it will present a limited engagement of Jason Robert Brown's award-winning musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS, directed by Jason McDowell-Green and starring Abby Mueller as Cathy and Ben Jacoby as Jamie. Mueller and Jacoby were recently seen together on Broadway in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, where the pair starred as Carole and Gerry Goffin, King's first husband.

Artistic Director Fred Anzevino announced today his full cast and production team for THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY - the heartfelt, intimate musical based on Robert James Waller's tender story of love, regrets and second chances. Anzevino will be stage director and Jeremy Ramey music director. THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and book by Marsha Norman, won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score. The second show of Theo Ubique's first season in its new home at 721 Howard Street in Evanston, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY will preview from March 8-10, open to the press on Monday, March 11 and play Thursdays through Sundays through April 21, 2019.

Nearly 30 Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Musical Theatre Conservatory students showcase a medley of music alongside Broadway actor Jared Gertner for the school's annual "Performing with the Pros" event on Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2. Through song and story, his cabaret-style performance takes the audience on a journey through Gertner's life and career, highlighting his various audition experiences. This year's "Performing with the Pros" features Broadway hits, as well as a few surprises.
Tipping Point Theatre is bringing The Last Five Years to life from January 26th to March 3rd in Northville. Jason Robert Brown's emotional and unconventional musical is the intimate telling of relationship of a young couple from beginning to end that weaves all their endearing qualities and flaws in a way that leaves audiences constructing their own opinions on where the relationship went wrong. Jason Robert Brown's next big musical project is on its way to the stage!According to an Equity casting notice, his adaptation of the 1993 film Farewell My Concubine will get a staged reading February 11-15. The project, which features a book by Kenneth Lin, will receive direction by Moises Kaufman and musical direction by Thomas Murray.
Happy New Year to the Syracuse area theater community! We have a new year filled a variety of theatrical productions throughout the greater Syracuse area coming up! We are fortunate to live in an area that has so many talented actors, technicians, and directors as well as dedicated theater companies - not to mention supportive theatergoers. From the local theaters to the Equity tours that come through the area, we are lucky that Syracuse offers many opportunities to experience live theater. Having seen countless productions in this area since I was young and reviewed many shows for the past few years, I thought I would take a moment to share which productions I am most excited about in 2019!
