The Broadway Education Alliance, Disney Theatrical Group and Camp Broadway LLC has announced that $87,975 in educational scholarships have been awarded to students participating in the 11th annual Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance, a celebration of high school musical programs in the Greater New York area.

The Broadway Education Alliance has announced the 2020-2021 roster of students vying for the 11th annual Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance Best Actress and Best Actor Award on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Ring Twice for Miranda, a new play written by Alan Hruska (Laugh It Up, Stare It Down; The Man on Her Mind; New House under Construction) and directed by Rick Lombardo (San Jose Rep Artistic Director from 2008-2014, The Snow Queen, Bill W. and Dr. Bob) officially opened yesterday, February 12th, at New York City Center Stage II (131 West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Rehearsals started yesterday, December 13th, for the new play Ring Twice for Miranda, written by Alan Hruska (Laugh It Up, Stare It Down; The Man on Her Mind; New House under Construction) and directed by Rick Lombardo (San Jose Rep Artistic Director from 2008-2014, The Snow Queen, Bill W. and Dr. Bob). LAUGH IT UP, STARE IT DOWN, a new play written by Alan Hruska (The Man on Her Mind, New House under Construction, Reunion), is directed by Chris Eigeman (known as a filmmaker for Turn The River and as an actor for roles in television's Gilmore Girls and the films Metropolitan, Barcelona, and The Last Days of Disco), and premiered at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) last night, September 9th, 2015.

Broadway Records today announced the release of The Raven (from 'Nevermore') [Remix] - EP, an extended play recording containing three versions of the song 'The Raven' from the gothic opera Nevermore - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe, written and composed by Jonathan Christenson: a Single Version of the song as performed on the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Nevermore, a Club Remix version, and a Radio Remix version. Both remixes were created by DJ and music producer Julian Marsh.

NEVERMORE - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe, a unique theatrical experience combining haunting music, poetic storytelling, and stunning stagecraft to tell the fascinating and moving life story of iconic American writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), began performances at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) on January 14, 2015, with an official opening last night, January 25, 2015. Theaterspeak will present WRITE OUT FRONT, an installation of over 125 award-winning and up-and-coming playwrights writing new plays in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop during store hours, today, August 1st - 31st. In each two-hour time slot for WRITE OUT FRONT, a different playwright will write a new play on a laptop, while the screen shot of their computer is projected onto a 42' monitor facing the passersby on the street, making their normally private creative process public.

The Laurie Beechman theatre was filled to capacity on Monday, November 4th for the Emerson College BFA Showcase featuring the BFA Acting and BFA Musical Theatre Class of 2013. Industry professionals hoping to find new cast members for their next projects and Emerson Alumni showed up to support and welcome the talented group to show business.
