National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $25 million in grants as part of the NEA's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $25,000 to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. This award is the largest NEA grant awarded to the Kauffman Center in support of Future Stages Festival. The festival is a free community event that provides opportunities for future artists to take center stage at the Kauffman Center. The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

TheatreWorks Florida announced that The National Endowment for The Arts (NEA) Chairman, Jane Chu, has approved a grant in the amount of $10,000 to launch the company's TheatreCares program, Vet Voices. This is TheatreWorks Florida's 4th NEA grant and they are so appreciative of the agency's support for this project.

Pittsburgh Opera will receive a $25,000 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to help support the new production of Moby-Dick by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer which will make its Pittsburgh debut March 17th.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The funds will support The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work.

Reuben Polanco, 13, of Bronx, NY was in the Nation's capital today to receive an award from all three federal arts and culture agencies on behalf of SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young.

The National Endowment for the Arts has selected JoAnne Brackeen as a winner of its distinguished Jazz Masters Award for 2018.

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects across the country in NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017. Included in this announcement are two Art Works awards to the American Theatre Wing: $35,000 to fund SpringboardNYC and the Theatre Intern Network (through the NEA's Theater and Musical Theater discipline), and $25,000 for production of the 'Working in the Theatre' docuseries (through the NEA's Media Arts discipline).

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, was awarded $100,000 by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) as part of its second round of funding for FY 2017.

Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $10,000 to ArtsQuest, Touchstone Theatre and Zoellner Arts Center, for the Cirque It! Festival on July 14-16, 2017. The NEA received 1,728 Art Works applications and will make 1,029 grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. 

PCPA - Pacific Conservatory Theatre was awarded a $10,000 Arts Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Sarasota Orchestra received a ­­­­­$10,000 grant from National Endowment for the Arts. The grant offers funding to area arts organizations in support of their artistic mission. The grant funds supported the 53rd Sarasota Music Festival (SMF or Festival). This three-week residency program brings together 60 exceptional young musicians and 40 renowned faculty artists for a series of coaching sessions, lectures, rehearsals and performances in Sarasota.

Peters which will mark the company's 6th world premiere. The NEA received 1,728 Art Works applications and will make 1,029 grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

Westport Country Playhouse has been awarded a $20,000 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for a community engagement initiative surrounding the fall production of William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet,' directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.
