Northrop To Receive $40,000 Grant From The National Endowment For The Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $25 million in grants as part of the NEA's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $40,000 to Northrop for community engagement activities. The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

Pittsburgh Opera To Receive $25k NEA Art Works Grant

Pittsburgh Opera will receive a $25,000 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to help support the new production of Moby-Dick by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer which will make its Pittsburgh debut March 17th.

The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

Berkeley Rep Receives Grant from National Endowment for the Arts

Included in this announcement are two Art Works awards to the American Theatre Wing: $35,000 to fund SpringboardNYC and the Theatre Intern Network (through the NEA's Theater and Musical Theater discipline), and $25,000 for production of the 'Working in the Theatre' docuseries (through the NEA's Media Arts discipline).

The Sarasota Orchestra received a ­­­­­$10,000 grant from National Endowment for the Arts. The grant offers funding to area arts organizations in support of their artistic mission. The grant funds supported the 53rd Sarasota Music Festival (SMF or Festival). This three-week residency program brings together 60 exceptional young musicians and 40 renowned faculty artists for a series of coaching sessions, lectures, rehearsals and performances in Sarasota.

The Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University has received two awards from the National Endowment for the Arts in its second round of funding for fiscal year 2017. The Wex is the only organization in Ohio to receive grants in two separate categories, totaling $60,000-a level of support to Ohio institutions second only to that received by the Ohio Arts Council.
